Amid peonies the light makeup you show.

What I fear is that soon spring wind may go;

I back to hills, your balm wafts from my gown.

Note: The Peony Garden of the Sui-Tang Town in Luoyang or Loshine, Henan Province, is home to a wide variety of flowers, with peonies being the most prominent. It is said that the Garden covers an area of five to six thousand mu, the largest of its kind in the world.

莫真宝，男，湖南常德人，文学博士，供职于国务院参事室、中央文史研究馆中华诗词研究院学术部。

LYU Wenpeng, a native of Tianshui, Gansu Province; Associate Professor of English and MA Supervisor at Northwest Normal University, Director of Chinese Culture Translation and International Promotion Committee, of Chinese Classics Bilinguals’ Association, and of Gansu Provincial Translators’ Association. She specializes in applied linguistics and studies of translator behavior and of translation of Chinese classics.
